A Stones Throw Away…

Stones and gems come from the foundation of our world. Some are in remote areas, found by only the adventurous, while others are literally in our back yards. The most precious of these, known as gems such as Diamonds, Rubies, Sapphires and Emeralds, are sold at exorbitant prices, inaccessible by the majority of us. Semi-precious gems and stones, like Agates, Amethyst, Jade, Quartz, and Opals can be a more feasible option. Each stone has a certain vibration or energy signature, and when combined with ours it can change and improve the way we feel physically, as well as our emotional state.

In my research I’d not come across the study of the energetic properties of stones until I walked into the metaphysical store, which I now frequent, and was immediately encompassed with a warm, peaceful, comforting feeling of acceptance and inclusion. Not only did the friendly greeting of the shop owner welcome me in, but it seemed as if all of the precious stones called out to me to see and touch the beauty, and wonderful qualities they contained. There was more to it than just my awe of their exquisiteness. I could actually feel the energy emanating from each one as I held them in my hands. That’s when I realized I needed to find out all I could about how and when to use these stones.

It is true, some of you may not have the same energetic experience that others do, and some may not believe, or understand how an inorganic thing, such as a crystal, can affect our life force. Though not felt, many believe that the presence of these crystals and gems will and do change the energetic field around them. For many years, crystals have been used to produce electromagnetic energy used in radios by changing sound energy into electrical impulses, silicon chips in computers, and watches and clocks in their accurate measurement of time. The atoms which make up our DNA cells, which biophysicists are now likening to liquid crystals, are not that much different from computers. So the probability the energy flow from crystals could be recognized by the human body, and/or any living organism is not so debatable. Many people in the metaphysical field also believe the exposure to certain crystals provides a very important energy to influence and perhaps alter the human energy field.

I found it interesting that in a study by anthropologist Jeremy Narby, in his book The Cosmic Serpent, he talks about the fact that crystals emit photons of light at regular intervals. If the DNA’s crystal structure is similar, then this would explain the mystery of the human aura. Although I have not yet been able to accomplish seeing this beautiful energy, I won’t give up my studies in how to do so. I will share with you later about this experience.

The use of crystals and stones varies. Everyone has their favored way of making use of this necessary energy force. Research for yourself which ones resonate with a need you currently have, or an environment you want to create. Here are some of the more prominent uses:

Home/Office/Most Used Space: Place the stones around the room. Some people create a protection around openings, others making a specific meditation room or personal area containing a collection of stones. This not only will change your day-to-day experiences, but others who enter your space.

Holding/Carrying Stones: These are usually called “pocket stones”. Choose a collection, or the one that feels right for the day. This method can emanate vibrations into your Auric field encouraging a change to occur.

Wearing of Stones: There is a multitude of stones to choose from, using fascinating shapes and beautiful colors. There is no end to the endless creations to be made. Just pick the stones that feel right to you. For example, you might include protection stones, healing stones, ascension stones, prosperity stones, and of course love energy stones.

Other ways to use stones include: meditation, dreamwork (keep a dream journal by your bedside), laying on of stones (known as body layouts), creating a grid or stone oracle, energy tools, and combining with oils and essences.
