Stones for the New Year

Coming up on the new year it’s always good to start with a refreshed attitude and an appreciation for good spiritual and physical health. Below are a few of my favorite healing stones to bring about the needed change. Keep these close by, and when you start feeling a bit downtrodden and perhaps low in energy and spirit, give them some love and meditate for a while. It will do you a world of good.

CHRYSOPRASE— Rough Green Stone—Chakra: Heart (4th) and Solar Plexus (3rd) Supports general healing, and regeneration. Known as the ‘stone of youth’ for a youthful spirit, outlook and energy.

Spiritual – This is an excellent prosperity stone and a powerful Love attractor. Allows one to accept and receive the infinite Love and Abundance of the Universe.

Physical – Can be helpful in recuperation from degenerative diseases of all types.

SODALITE— Blue— Chakra: Third Eye (6th)  Stone of insight, helping in bringing out the mental powers of analysis, observation and creativity. Helps in gaining access to the subconscious and intuitive abilities, enhancing insight and mental performance with deepened intuition.

Spiritual – Helps one perceive where one’s path lies, acting as a signpost on one’s personal journey of spiritual growth.

Physical – Supports regulation of blood pressure, easing water retention and improving cellular hydration. Reduces stress and anxiety.

CARNELIAN— Orange — Chakra: Root (1st) and Solar Plexus (3rd) Lends vitality and energy to the physical body. Helps one to overcome fear of taking action, or doing the wrong thing.  A very powerful ally when used as a protective stone.

Spiritual – In meditation it can help one understand how to bring a concept into being, stimulating one to take action toward one’s goals and manifesting a desired outcome into reality.

Physical – Excellent support for detoxification, helping one to purify and sanctify the body as a temple of the spirit.

AMETHYST— Purple—Chakra: Crown (7th) and Third Eye (6th) Helps to  balance nervous system and brain functions lending to clarity of mind.

Spiritual – Helps in meditation to open and clear the Third-Eye and Crown Chakras to accelerate the development of intuitive and psychic abilities. Assists in assuming one’s spiritual power as being a creation of the Divine Universe. Facilitates communication with one’s guides and angels.

Physical – Improves oxygenation in the blood, especially when combined with Hematite. Can be used to help with symptoms of tinnitus, nerve disorders, or brain imbalances.

RED JASPER— Chakra: Root (1st) Stone of physical strength and energy. Aids in manifesting creative ideas, helping one to continue working on a project or idea after it has lost its original excitement. Helps one to be disciplined in one’s creative work, bringing self-mastery to those who are a bit scattered in their focus.

Spiritual – Activates and stimulates the base or Root Chakra and supports the rising of one’s personal energy connection to the Divine.

Physical – Supports recovery from illness, and can be used to enhance the effects of exercise with its properties to improve circulatory and respiratory  systems.

GREEN CALCITE— Chakra: Heart (4th) Use for relaxation, emotional balance, release of stress and resentment.  Clears the ‘hot’ emotions like anger and irritability, while nurturing traits such as compassion and altruism. During meditation this stone will help to still the mind in order to experience wordless awareness.  Especially helpful for those experiencing SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorders) or depression.

Spiritual –Green Calcite helps one to resonate with Love energy and to express compassion and goodwill, bringing a sense of renewed purpose and vitality in making a positive change in one’s life.

Hhysical – Helps to clear excessive plaque and blockages in the arteries, and brings a general air of health, energy and well-being to the aura. Used directly over the Heart Chakra it can assist in releasing buried emotions that may have manifested into physical disease.
